Sales Manager

As a successful and ever-growing Sales Manager, you are expected to uphold the highest ethical standards in every aspect of the job while owning responsibility for the overall profitability in both the new and used vehicle departments, managing and leading a harmonious and productive sales team, and achieving high customer satisfaction and retention.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

  • Collaborating with fellow Sales Managers to plan and implement department and individual objectives for achieving sales and gross profits.
  • Monitoring the performance of the sales personnel, holding weekly sales meetings, and helping conduct sales training.
  • Hiring, coaching, and terminating sales personnel.
  • Overseeing the display and merchandising for both new and used vehicles in the showroom and out on the lot.
  • Coordinating the appropriate supply of new and used vehicles and ordering/acquiring vehicle inventory accordingly.
  • Meeting consistently with the dealership’s General Manager to review forecasts and profits for each department.
  • Having an in-depth understanding of the sales departments’ financial data.
  • Working directly with the General Manager to make recommendations on short- and long-range advertising plans, sales promotions, staffing needs, lease promotions, and compensation plans.
  • Attending to customer complaints, ensuring that a high level of customer satisfaction is obtained.
  • Helping with closing deals when necessary.
  • Having knowledge of, properly executing, and performing appraisals on trade-in vehicles.

Qualifications

  • Ability to maintain profitability while controlling expenses and maintaining high customer CSI
  • Strong, positive negotiation skills
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle value/pricing trends and the automotive market
  • Strong computer and Internet skills dealing with multiple platforms and programs
  • Strong knowledge and compliance of federal, state, and local regulations

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations 

  • Must have a valid, unrestricted driver's license (you must be insurable).
  • Must maintain a clean, acceptable, and safe driving record.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening requirements which include a social media check, a drug screen & physical, a background check, and a Motor Vehicle Report.
  • Be able to read and comprehend instructions and information in the English language.
