About the Company

Price LeBlanc Family of Companies is a closely held group of businesses with interests in automotive dealerships and real estate investments. We are seeking a hands-on financial leader to oversee the financial management of our operations, coordinate with outside professionals, and provide strategic guidance to ownership.

Position Summary

The Group Controller will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of the company’s real estate operations and family office. The candidate will report to the Board of Directors. This includes preparing and reviewing financial statements, managing cash flow, handling insurance renewals, reading and interpreting contracts, and working with external tax preparers and advisors. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, dependable, and capable of balancing both strategic thinking and day-to-day financial tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Management

  • Oversee Controllers and accounting functions for multiple entities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Monitor cash flow, bank balances, and intercompany transactions.
  • Maintain internal controls to protect company assets and ensure accuracy of records.

Tax Coordination & Compliance

  • Work closely with external CPAs and tax preparers to ensure all returns (corporate, partnership, property-related, and personal, where applicable) are filed accurately and on time.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for tax filings and year-end reviews.
  • Stay informed on changes in relevant tax laws affecting the business.

Contracts & Legal Oversight

  • Review, summarize, and track key terms of contracts, including property leases, vendor agreements, loan documents, and dealership-related contracts.
  • Identify and communicate potential financial or legal exposure to ownership.
  • Coordinate with outside legal counsel on significant contracts or disputes as needed.

Insurance & Risk Management

  • Manage property, casualty, liability, auto, and other insurance policies for all entities.
  • Track policy renewals, review coverage adequacy, and handle claims when they arise.
  • Maintain relationships with insurance brokers and carriers to ensure cost-effective coverage.

Real Estate Oversight

  • Monitor property-related income and expenses, including rent collections, loan payments, and property taxes.
  • Assist with property purchases, sales, and refinancing transactions.
  • Oversee capital improvements and ensure proper accounting for real estate assets.

Strategic Support

  • Provide financial analysis and input on business decisions, expansions, or acquisitions.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reports to support management decisions.
  • Help streamline processes and improve reporting systems where possible.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise and support accounting and administrative staff.
  • Ensure cross-training and reliability within the accounting function.
  • Maintain a culture of accuracy, accountability, and professionalism.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required).
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management; experience in real estate industries preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple entities and balance hands-on work with strategic oversight.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
  • Must have a valid, unrestricted driver's license (you must be insurable).
  • Must maintain a clean, acceptable, and safe driving record.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening requirements, which include a social media check, a drug screen & physical, a background check, and a Motor Vehicle Report.
